Title I
Title I is a federally subsidized program that provides financial assistance to school with high numbers of children who qualify for the free/reduced lunch program to help ensure that all children meet challenging California academic standards. Cedarcreek and Rio Vista Elementary schools qualify for Title I services and offer specialized programs for students who are identified as being in need of additional assistance. Title I Parent Meetings are held annually to revised the school's Parental Involvement Policy and disseminate information about the Title I program.
English Language Development (ELD)
The English Language Development (ELD) program is designed to meet the needs of students who qualify for assistance in acquiring English language skills. The focus of the Saugus Union School District's ELD program is to provide students who have a primary language other than English with:
Cedarcreek Elementary has a robust ELD program. ELD is taught daily as part our "Language for Learning" time. All students participate in 30 minutes of "Language for Learning" time. They are grouped depending on their language needs and lessons are designed specifically for each group. For example, English Learners work on specific ELD lessons while students who speak English as their primary language work on the state adopted English Language Arts content standards for listening and speaking.

- a support system that takes into consideration the student's cultural and family values, regardless of language proficiency,
- support for parents of students learning English.

Gifted and Talented Education (GATE)
The Saugus Union School District's GATE program supports a quality educational program for all gifted and talented students in order to develop knowledge, skills, abilities, and values that empower students to reach their full potential. SUSD recognizes that gifted and talented students warrant a qualitatively differentiated program, within the regular classroom setting, to meet their special needs, and implements a program of depth and complexity at all 15 school sites. Formal identification and program participation takes place in 3rd-6th grades.
Daycare & Preschool
The Cedarcreek State Funded preschool is a community based early childhood program whose goal is to provide quality education and services for the families and children who are enrolled. Cedarcreek preschool is sponsored by Saugus Union School District and is state funded. Our early childhood program is accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. This program serves children who reach three or four years of age by December 2nd of the current school year.
The Director, Teachers, and Instructional Assistants at Cedarcreek Preschool are all Early Childhood Education Credentialed professionals. It is the center’s belief to be sensitive to a diverse population and maintain respect for all families. Activities are designed to develop the physical, social, emotional, creative and cognitive areas of each individual child by enabling children to learn through exploration.
